Peggy Rathmann's Interlocking Fictions

When my son was four years old, my husband took him to meet Peggy Rathmann at Baltimore's great Children's Bookstore. They'd brought our four favorite Rathmann books to be signed, which she did, in the most clever ways.

I love Peggy Rathmann's books--not just because they're smart and funny and great to look at, but because they connect to each other in small, subtle ways. I have a piece about this interlocking quality up at the Lucky 13s site today.
